President
Steven Were Omamo (PhD, Stanford) is NGI's founding President. Omamo has worked for 20 years for leading national and international organizations in Africa, Europe, and the United States. His posts include Chief of the Social Protection and Livelihoods Service with the UN World Food Programme and Senior Research Fellow with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). He is currently a Visiting Scholar in the Center for African Studies at Stanford University. |

Director
Cheryl Renee Richardson (PhD, Stanford) is a Director with NGI. Richardson is a Research Scholar at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. She currently conducts research on the impact of online tools on the scholarship of teaching and learning, a particular approach to improving teaching. She also provides guidance to faculty development projects, including those seeking to incorporate digital technology as a tool for student learning and as a way for faculty to "see" student knowledge. She has taught high school social studies and English as a Second Language and conducted field research in Africa and the US.
