President
Steven Were Omamo (PhD, Stanford) is NGI's founding President. Omamo has worked for 20 years for leading national and international organizations in Africa, Europe, and the United States. His posts include Visiting Scholar at Stanford University, Chief of the Social Protection and Livelihoods Service with the UN World Food Programme and Senior Research Fellow with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). He is currently the UN WFP Director and Representative to the African Union and UN Economic Commission for Africa. |

Director
Cheryl Renee Richardson (PhD, Stanford) is a Director with NGI. Richardson has worked in various institutions related to the improvement of schooling. Her posts include: Associate Director of the Program for African and African American Studies at Stanford University and Research Scholar at both the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and Georgetown University, where she conducted research on the impact of online tools on the scholarship of teaching and learning and provided guidance to faculty development projects. She has taught secondary social studies and English as a Second Language in Kenya, Italy, Ethiopia, and the US. She also has developed behavior modification curriculum and written proposals for international organizations.
